Super Peach: Terrazzo Floors with flavor

When we were brought in to renovate the concrete floor at Super Peach, a new, high-visibility eatery in a premier retail center, we realized right away that it would need a whole lot of work. Teaming up with our frequent partner, Chris Wallock, a veteran certified Level Master Elite installer, our first task was to shoot the floor elevations using a German water-level laser. This enabled us to determine that the rear of the restaurant was at a different elevation than the front.

The GPS Solution: We hid the imperfections in the concrete with an epoxy sand coating bonded to the existing floor. We then poured an underlayment to obtain the correct floor level minus half an inch. Once we had a flat surface in all directions, we installed zinc divider strips in a distinct and precise pattern. We created the picture-perfect stone, glass, and mirror terrazzo aggregate mix, enough for one pour in green and another in grey. After grinding and polishing, we perfected a surface that is truly elevated in look and style. The floor—and the restaurant—have been a big success.
