Terrazzo

Terrazzo floors were first developed in 15th-century Venice using leftover marble chips mixed into concrete.  Modern-day terrazzo tends more to small rocks, shards of blue and green glass, and double-sided mirrors. This adds a special beauty to these low-maintenance surfaces, which provide a long-lasting solution for high-traffic residential or commercial spaces. It is generally poured on-site, then polished to a smooth luster.
